About Me

 My name is Ruben Sandoval and I have been a Social Studies teacher in El Paso, Texas since 1991. I grew up in East Los Angeles and completed a B.A. in Political Science at Cal State University, Los Angeles. In 1990, I completed an M.A. in International Relations from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. I also completed my Teacher Certification at U.T. El Paso in 1991 and received my Texas certification in History, Government and Composite Social Studies. I am also credentialed to teach college level Dual Credit courses in HIstory and Government. I have taught middle school and high school for the last 24 years. I have been at Coronado HIgh School since 2000 and currently teach World History, U.S. History, Dual Credit U.S. History, U.S. Government and Dual Credit Government. I am also the UIL coach for Social Studies and Current Issues and Events. In addition to all this, I am an Adjunct Professor for El Paso Community College, and UTEP and teach Social Studies for Upward Bound during my summers at U.T. El Paso and offer private tutoring in Social Studies.
